My long love affaire with the SE.5a began as a kid, a long time ago, when I first built a Guillows kit of this aircraft in about 1969. It was rubber powered and flew well. About a year ago I was in a toy store and there was a 24" Guillows lazer cut kit of this aircraft. I bought it. Recently I became bored (this is NOT good) and was browsing the RCU adds. This kit was listed and I managed to buy it. Luckily wheels were listed by another member and I got these as well. Here I will chronical my build.

I am NOT going to do a "scale build" as I am not so artistic. It will be loosely based on pictures I have of a post WW1 barnstormer aircraft that
were used for banner towing and sky writing.

I am going to use a Saito 180 as power and the exhausts will be functional. This will allow the smoke system to use the scale exits.
